What happens after my home is sold

Once your home officially closes, ownership is transferred to the buyer, and the proceeds from the sale are distributed after the remaining mortgage balance, closing costs, and agreed-upon expenses are paid. You’ll receive your net proceeds, hand over the keys, and the transaction is complete.
